It is important for young people to participate in democratic processes. Young people have their own experiences of the challenges they face and so are in a very good position to participate in democratic processes that will help to bring about change in their community and society.


For in individual young person, taking part if democratic processes is good because:


It develops their understanding of democracy and global issues.


It develops skills like communication skills, working with others and problem-solving skills.




It gives them a sense of social responsibility by engaging in their communities and being able to bring about change to the place where they live.


It gives them experience that they can use to complete future CVs and/or application forms for higher education or future employment.
